Angela Ward

Angela has been involved with varied music activities for most of her life. At her girls’ grammar school in England she played piano to accompany the school choir, played violin in junior and senior string orchestras, played in a string quartet and sang in a madrigal choir.

There was a hiatus in her pianistic life while she raised three children and taught full time, but Angela managed to dabble with recorder playing, and played French horn for a while in an adult band.

After retiring from a career of teaching and administration at the University of Saskatchewan, Angela is happy to be in Victoria and taking piano lessons from Susan de Burgh.

She is excited about the intense collaborative experience of studying the Dichterliebe with faculty and colleagues.
