Mark Marquette
Although Mark Marquette has experience acting in local films with CineVic, Victoria Motion Picture School, HGTV, even a non-verbal role in a rock video with Handsome Furs, he is foremost a singer.
He has appeared in a number of Victoria Operatic Society productions. He particularly enjoyed playing Marley’s ghost in “A Christmas Carol”, and playing Benny Southstreet in VOS’s last “Guys and Dolls” run.
Mark has sung chorus in several productions with Pacific Opera Victoria, including a comprimari role in Tosca. He has discovered late in life that he has a rich bass/baritone voice. Singing in different languages has been very satisfying. He was a member of the Winterreise Project in 2015.
Mark has had perhaps his most fun performing tribute acts as Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings – even ABBA and The Mamas & Papas – with the Provincial Government “PopStars” – a big draw for 7 years in Victoria. Mark also sings a mean “Funky Cold Medina” at several local karaoke venues.
In his other life, Mark works as a Public Servant in the Workforce Analysis Branch of the British Columbia Ministry of Health.
