Norma Selwood

Norma has sung in choirs since the age of 9. She sang at Butchart Gardens in the summer review and has sung with the Victoria Symphony on a few occasions (Handel’s Messiah).

She studied piano as a child but was not able to take singing lessons until she was in her 40s, when she took lessons with Cathie Young at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and then completed a BMus in Vocal Performance at the University of Victoria under Bernard Turgeon.

Norma’s family, husband, and two children, have been supportive of her love of singing. During her time working in the Elementary School system, she hopes she was able to pass along this love to her choirs of youngsters.
